Do you offer single, one-time applications, or do I need an annual contract?
We offer both! We provide flexible single-application options for seasonal treatments like early spring weed and feed or bare-ground gravel sprays. However, because invasive Montana weeds (like Canada thistle and cheatgrass) regenerate through extensive seed banks and creeping root systems, long-term success requires ongoing management. For lawn fertilization, pasture maintenance, and winter snow removal, we offer discounted seasonal service plans to keep your property protected year-round.
Are your weed control and fertilization treatments eco-friendly and safe for my family and pets?
Yes. Our core mission is providing ecologically sound solutions that protect humans, livestock, and local Montana watersheds. We strictly adhere to chemical label rates and never apply more product than necessary. For residential lawns, pets and children can safely return to the grass once the liquid treatment has dried completely (usually 1–2 hours). For agricultural pasture applications, we recommend keeping livestock off treated areas for 24 hours.
When is the best time of year to treat weeds on my property?
Effective weed control depends on seasonal timing. Early Spring is critical for targeting young emerging weeds and applying bare-ground pre-emergents before seeds germinate. Fall is the most effective time for tough perennials like Canada thistle, as plants draw nutrients down into their root systems for winter, taking the herbicide deep into the roots with them. We adjust our custom herbicide and fertilizer blends throughout spring, summer, and fall to match the target plant’s growth stage.
What property sizes do you service?
We work with property owners of all sizes across Gallatin, Park, and Madison counties. From standard residential lawns in Bozeman and Belgrade to multi-acre ranches, riding arenas, and gravel driveways, we have equipment sized for the job. For large agricultural sites and pastures over 20 acres, we offer specialized bulk acreage discounts.
Why can’t I just use organic products or pull weeds like Canada thistle by hand?
Invasive perennials like Canada thistle have deep, creeping root systems that store vast amounts of energy. Hand-pulling, mowing, or tilling leaves root fragments underground, which actually triggers the plant to sprout more shoots. Additionally, non-selective organic spray alternatives only burn off the top leaves without killing the root system, allowing the weed to bounce right back. We use targeted, systemic treatments that travel deep into the root network to eliminate the plant completely.
